DMTA PARENT CONDUCT GUIDE
At De Marzi Tennis Academy (DMTA), our goal is to create a focused, positive, and effective learning environment for every player. Parents play a key role in supporting this, and we ask all parents to adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Respect the Coach’s Authority
Do not communicate directly with players during lessons. Intervening can undermine the coach’s authority and disrupt the learning process.
Please do not step onto the court when your child is playing.
Trust that the coach is guiding your child’s development with professional expertise.
2. Avoid Giving Coaching Advice
Refrain from providing instructions, advice, or feedback to the coach regarding lesson structure or what your child “needs to work on.”
Coaches design sessions based on experience, observation, and the player’s individual progress.
3. Communication Expectations
Coaches may not be able to respond to every call, text, or email immediately. Please allow 24–48 hours for replies.
Tennis coaching requires focus, energy, and enthusiasm. To maintain this, coaches need adequate rest and recovery. Please respect coaches’ schedules and personal time, so they can bring their best to every session.
Do not expect coaches to attend every tournament, match, or external competition. Their focus is on providing high-quality coaching during scheduled sessions.
4. Focus on Enjoyment and Motivation
Even for children competing at a high level, the primary goal is to foster a love of the game.
Encourage your child positively and celebrate effort and improvement, not just results.
Trust that the coach is balancing skill development with keeping tennis enjoyable and motivating.
5. Positive Support
Encourage your child from the sidelines with positive reinforcement, but avoid critiquing performance during lessons or matches.
Progress comes from consistency, structured training, and professional guidance.
6. Collaboration and Respect
Maintain respectful communication with coaches and other parents.
Constructive questions about your child’s progress should be addressed outside of lesson times, ideally via email or scheduled meetings.
By enrolling your child in DMTA programs, you agree to follow this Parent Conduct Guide. Your cooperation ensures a safe, productive, and enjoyable learning environment for all players.
